Despite its London postcode, Ealing is also associated with a village pastime and the sound of leather on willow. Ealing Cricket Club enjoys a history dating back over 140 years. The club’s first recorded match was in 1874, between Ealing and Marylebone Cricket Club. The ground was formerly the home of Middlesex CC and was also the venue for fixtures between 1935 and 2011. In 1973, the ground held its first women's one day international when Jamaica played Trinidad and Tobago in the 1973 Women’s World Cup. Two further one day internationals were held at the ground during the Women’s World Cup, where India played New Zealand and England played the Netherlands. In domestic cricket, the ground is the main venue for Ealing Cricket Club, who play in the Middlesex County Cricket League. The club remains an integral part of the community.

Corfton Road
