In the owner's words
17 The Digey is an incredible example of a character fisherman’s cottage, typical of this unique position in the heart of St Ives. The property affords a wealth of period features, such as the ships timbers incorporated into the fireplace and beams, exposed stone sections and the pilchard smoking boxes inset in the walls. It really is wonderful to see such original features preserved and presented in such a manner.

Feock has long been regarded as one of the most sought-after villages in Cornwall. Located at the head of the Carrick Roads, the surrounding countryside is exquisitely beautiful, much being within the ownership of the National Trust. Proximity to the water and nearby Restronguet Creek contributes to the popularity of this part of county. With a number of creeks to explore and the famous sailing waters close by, there are endless leisure activities to enjoy in the immediate area. And of course, having the excellent The Punch Bowl & Ladle pub and restaurant as your local is a bonus. At Feock, Loe Beach provides moorings, boat lay ups, sailing school and café. Just over a mile away is the historic King Harry Ferry. Established in 1888 it links Feock, Truro and the surrounding areas to St. Mawes, and the beautiful beaches and walks of the Roseland Peninsula. Less than 4 miles to the north is the Cathedral City of Truro, containing an excellent shopping centre and main line railway station. There is a bus service to Truro and excellent State and Private schools in the area. To the south lies Falmouth and running between the two are some of the finest day sailing waters in the country. DIRECTIONS From our office on Lemon Street proceed south across the double roundabout onto the A39 as signposted for Falmouth. After passing the roundabout for Playing Place take the first exit at the next roundabout on to the B3289 signposted for Feock and the King Harry Ferry. Remain on this road without deviation and after passing the Ferris garage, veer left. Continue until just before the no entry sign then turn right onto La Vague. At the end of the road, veer left to the property.

Above: Little Carnmenellis
The property lies on the south-eastern slopes of Carnmenellis, one of the great hills running down the spine of Cornwall. The landscape is wild and romantic with scattered small cottages and farms with fields enclosed by stone hedges made from granite moorland boulders. Sitting approximately 40m below the summit, the house enjoys a delightful rural position with far-reaching views across many miles of open countryside. The location is most attractive although not remote with other properties in the general area. Local amenities will be found at Stithians while a number of towns are within easy reach including Truro (13 miles), Falmouth, (9 miles) and Helston, (7 miles). All offer a good range of shopping facilities. A mile or so to the east is Stithians Reservoir, a body of water covering around 275 acres and offering a ranger of leisure pursuits including fishing, sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. But it is perhaps for bird watching that the reservoir is best known with a wide resident population supplemented by migrants. Also readily accessible is the north coastline which offers a choice of sandy beaches.
