Lindsay took over the country house department in 2013, after 27 years of selling houses for Savills in south-west London. He now divides his time unevenly between the capital and Gloucestershire. Being perfectly at home in either setting means he has an instinctive understanding of what drives the buyer’s move and which house will tick their box. As demonstrated by his popular house tours on Instagram, Lindsay has an infectious enthusiasm for country house architecture, interior design and gardens. He uses his instinctive eye for detail and an inquisitive mind to shine a light on a property’s key attributes—be it the long views from a drawing room window, the strength of an internal layout, an element that would prove ideal for a family or an opportunity that lies in wait for the new owners. Above all, however, it’s providing exceptional levels of service and being rigorous about client care that remain his first priority. To achieve that is, in his mind, straightforward: it’s about giving the best advice possible, in the most sensitive way possible. With years of experience behind him, Lindsay is acutely aware that selling a country house can often trigger varying emotions, as well as requiring owners to open up previously private or personal spaces. Demonstrating respect and integrity at all times is non-negotiable.

Paul joined Savills in 1988 and today specialises in the sale of prime houses across east Berkshire and north Surrey, including the Wentworth Estate. Having spent the vast majority of his career covering this area, he’s widely regarded as one of the most knowledgeable agents of the prime market in the inner Home Counties. He learned the ropes of estate agency working in his home town of Guildford, Surrey, before moving to help set up the new Savills office in 1988. Soon after, Paul was transferred to the Country House Department based in London with the responsibility of looking after the sale of houses south of London in Surrey, Kent and Sussex. With an incomparable contacts’ book made up of leading figures within the most prestigious private estates, Paul is afforded privileged access to these markets. As a result, he has consistently succeeded in selling some of the most significant houses within the Savills portfolio—always with his signature approach of total discretion and a razor-sharp attention to detail. The nature of the buyers, where they come from and what their needs are, means he’s constantly in contact with the international desks as well as the Savills Private Office. A people person at heart, he takes tremendous satisfaction earning and maintaining the trust of his clients by providing them with regular updates on progress and a consistently high standard of service.
